Quaggy Job Vacancies

Quaggy Development Trust is a charitable voluntary organisation looking to recruit staff for our Children's Centre and Nurseries. We are committed to delivering high quality, sustainable childcare as well as a range of other community services. 

We are looking to recruit dedicated, motivated, well-trained staff for our Children's Centre and Nurseries who are passionate about improving the lives of local children and families. These are full time and part time Early Years Practitioner and Early Years Assistant positions at our Lewisham Children's Centre, Quaggy at Invicta Nursery and Quaggy at Parkside Nursery.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and their families and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks.

Early Years Assistant

Salary £14,625

The responsiblities of this role are to ensure the children are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment, to be involved in planning, preparing ad reviewing the curriculum with the team. To work in partnership with parents to follow all policies and procedures set out by the nursery. To work as part of a team. Experience is desirable but not essential.

Early Years Practitioners

Salary £17,217 - £22,075

We require full and part time practitioners with a minimum qualification of Level 3 Childcare. They should be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the ability to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged 3 months - 5 years.

Sessional Workers

We are currently recruiting a bank of sessional workers to work across Greenwich West Children's Centres. This includes Quaggy, Sherington, Robert Owen and Rachel McMillan Children's Centres. We have a variety of sessions throughout the week (such as stay and plays) that need staff to run them and creche workers.

Youth Worker

We require a part time youth worker to work 2 evening sessions per week and to also cover holiday schemes in the West Greenwich/ Lewisham area. Some experience desired but not essential.

Quaggy Community Counselling Service(QCCS)
Evening Receptionist/Administrator

QCCS is a BACP accredited community based counselling service, dedicated to promoting the emotional and mental wellbeing of the local community in Lewisham and Royal Borough of Greenwich.  Many of our clients are parents and carers in families under stress or in crisis who present with a wide range of issues.  QCCS was established in 2008; located within Quaggy Children’s Centre and managed by Quaggy Development Trust.

The successful candidate will have good administrative skills and an understanding of counselling work.  They will support a team of counsellors on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5-9pm (8 hours per week - term time only) in addition to 5 Saturdays per year (termly QCCS CPD days, QDT Summer Carnival and QDT Autumn AGM). Salary: £10.05 per hour.
